Weighing up Auricall against 3CX.

The decision here is usually about who operates the system. This page sets out what Auricall takes on so you do not have to — carrier connectivity, numbers, updates, storage and the AI processing behind transcription — and what you keep control of, which is the configuration and the data retention.

This is our page, so treat it as our side of the argument. We do not publish claims about 3CX’s pricing or features here — they change, and second-hand descriptions of someone else’s product age badly. Everything below is what Auricall does. Check it against 3CX’s own documentation.

Where we differ

What Auricall is built around.

There is nothing to host, patch or size. Numbers are bought and configured in the browser, carrier voice runs underneath on a real network, recordings sit on object storage under your retention settings, and updates arrive without a maintenance window.

What you get

Everything, on one account.

Auricall is one product rather than a bundle of separately licensed modules. This is the whole of it.

  • UK numbers, search, purchase and free porting
  • WebRTC browser calling and SIP desk phones
  • IVR menus, ring groups and time-of-day routing
  • Voicemail with transcription and a shared inbox
  • Call recording with retention you configure
  • Website live chat widget and shared chat inbox
  • Internal team chat with groups and presence
  • Contacts, companies, timelines and commitments
  • AI summaries, insights and a grounded assistant
  • Analytics with scheduled exports
  • iOS and Android apps on the same account
  • Webhooks for call and chat events

Switching honestly

Auricall is not a contact centre suite and does not do video meetings. If either is a hard requirement, we would rather tell you now than during a trial. What it does well is keep every conversation with a customer — call, chat or voicemail — on one record that the whole team and the AI layer can read.

Questions

Moving from 3CX

No. Auricall is fully hosted — there is no server to provision, patch or back up.

Yes. SIP credentials let existing desk phones register against your Auricall account.

Voice runs on Telnyx — number search and purchase, porting, inbound and outbound calling and call events. The integrations page sets out the full stack.

Yes. Recording and retention are account settings, and recordings sit on S3-compatible storage governed by them.

Try it before you commit to anything

Set up a number, build a menu, make a call and read the transcript. It takes about ten minutes and tells you more than any comparison table.
