Weighing up Auricall against 8x8.

Teams looking at 8x8 are usually deciding how much platform they actually need. This page does not characterise 8x8 — it sets out what Auricall includes and what it deliberately does not, so you can work out whether the shape fits the way your team handles calls and enquiries.

This is our page, so treat it as our side of the argument. We do not publish claims about 8x8’s pricing or features here — they change, and second-hand descriptions of someone else’s product age badly. Everything below is what Auricall does. Check it against 8x8’s own documentation.

Where we differ

What Auricall is built around.

Auricall is a communications platform rather than a contact centre suite. There is real routing — IVR menus, ring groups, time-of-day rules — but the weight of the product sits in what happens after the call: transcription, summaries, commitments and a per-contact history that the whole team can read.

What you get

Everything, on one account.

Auricall is one product rather than a bundle of separately licensed modules. This is the whole of it.

Switching honestly

Auricall is not a contact centre suite and does not do video meetings. If either is a hard requirement, we would rather tell you now than during a trial. What it does well is keep every conversation with a customer — call, chat or voicemail — on one record that the whole team and the AI layer can read.

Questions

Moving from 8x8

No, and it is worth being straight about that. It is a business phone system, live chat and AI relationship layer. If you need queue-level workforce management and advanced contact centre routing, look at products built for that.

Yes. UK geographic numbers port free and keep working until the cutover.

Yes. SIP credentials let desk phones and softphones register against the same account as browser calling.

Users are added per seat with roles and permissions, on one account and one bill.

Set up a number, build a menu, make a call and read the transcript. It takes about ten minutes and tells you more than any comparison table.
